The Cottage is one of the most relaxing brunches I’ve had in a while, especially since I just came back from Hong Kong. What amazed me the most was their Stuffed French Toast with strawberry compote and mascarpone cheese. I’ve had french toasts in quite a few places before and I also made my own french toast but it was my first time having stuffed french toast.
I loved how I had strawberries in my mouth with every bite of my french toast because it was stuffed in it. The mascarpone cheese melted, which turned into more of a sauce for the french toast. One thing about the food at The Cottage is that the portions are huge. I was only able to finish one-third of my french toast.
We also ordered their Eggs La Jolla (Benedict with Canadian bacon, mushrooms, spinach, roasted tomato and balsamic). Again, eggs benedict are eggs benedict. Their benedict was pretty good but nothing too surprising there.
Anyone spending the weekend in La Jolla or San Diego should definitely stop by The Cottage for a relaxing brunch!
