Who would have thought a restaurant would name itself “Écriture,” which means “writing” in French? Shouldn’t that be a name for a bookstore or a cafe at most? The only connection between écriture and the restaurant is that both are French. Executive Chef Maxime Gibert, also the former Chef de Cuisine at Amber, combines French techniques with Japanese foodspirations into his dishes. It seems like more and more restaurants in Hong Kong are leaning towards French-Japanese fusion, catering to Hong Kong’s appetite for fine dining with a healthier and lighter tastes.
Caprice
June 5, 2018If it’s not obvious enough, I’m a big fan of Pastry Chef Nicolas Lambert’s work. His desserts is the reason why I’ve been visiting and revisiting Caprice countless times over the past year. After finding out that he was leaving Caprice to continue developing his career somewhere else in the world (I’m not sure whether it’s been publicly announced yet so I’m not going to reveal where he’s going yet), I HAD TO squeeze in another visit before the new Caprice pastry chef takes over and changes the menu (as I’m typing this, the new Caprice Pastry Chef, Vivien Sonzogni, has already taken over).

April 17, 2018Bliss Spa
April 16, 2018It was nothing less than a blissful afternoon at Bliss Spa. I’ve been feeling pretty tired lately due to the lack of quality sleep and long work hours. It wasn’t until a coworker asked me when my last facial was that I realized how tired I must have looked. That’s why I decided to splurge a little and treat myself to a facial treatment at Bliss Spa for some quality relaxation.
