Determined to not let our first disappointing cheese fondue meal get our spirits down, we woke up bright and early the next morning to head towards Lucerne.
Day 2
Before we left Zurich, of course we had to pick up something for the train ride to Lucerne. And as always, it’s a good idea to have some food for long train rides.
Since we had some food (and of course, great company) for the train ride, the trip wasn’t as painful as I thought it’d be. It didn’t take long before we arrived in Lucerne.
We decided to take it easy the first day by visiting some of the landmarks in the city first including:
Lion Monument
Spotted some swans by the lake
Chapel Bridge
Day 3
Since we planned to stay longer in Lucerne and planned to stay in the city for a full day, we decided to wake up bright and early (again) to take the cable car to the top of Mount Pilatus. Throughout the cable car ride, I was already amazed by the view. But once we got to the top of the mountain, (I know it’s trite but) it really was breathtaking.
(I was overjoyed to see these birds pecking food from the ground after another tourist threw some bread into the air.)
Day 4
After passing by the Spreuerbrücke Bridge and the Mussegmauer, we treated ourselves to a hearty fried chicken meal at Soul Chicken before asking the restaurant owners for directions towards Lucerne Lake. It turns out we were already surrounded by the lake but we wanted to go to the photo spot at Weggis.
After catching the bus towards Weggis, taking in the picturesque scene and hundreds of photos later, we were done for the day.
And that wraps up our Lucerne adventures before we head to Interlaken for our last day in Switzerland.
Happy eating (and traveling),
joeyeat ♥
