I made reservations at Ryu Gin two weeks in advance and had to leave my credit card info when I made reservations. At the time, I requested a table next to the window and let them know in advance that it was for a birthday dinner.

My first visit to Ryu Gin, I didn’t think the food was all that amazing. It was good, yes. Amazing, sadly no. It was lacking that special something that would leave you wanting more, which my friend would use “pak toi” (slam table) to describe.

Charcoal grilled Aflonsino served with crispy scales: This dish was the bomb. It's that one dish that really stood out from the rest. The fish looks scaly and perhaps you would even question whether it really is edible but I can assure you, every piece of scale will leave you wanting for more. This was the closest dish to that

Wagyu ribeye sukiyaki with onsen tamago The slice of wagyu was just good with the onsen egg in general.
