It’s Dine LA week and I couldn’t resist going to one of the restaurants that I wanted to try since last semester. The thing I really liked about Craft was everything was served family-style. Instead of making us choose which appetizer, entree and dessert we want individually, they served all the appetizers and desserts and let each of us choose one entree. Everything was served in the middle of the table, which made it easy for my friends and I to share and try all the dishes.
This was our menu for the night:
- Winter Greens with Citrus & Fennel
- Octopus & Calamari with Black Garlic & Fresno Peppers
- Pork Croquette with Rapini Pesto Sauce
- Petrale Sole
- White Gulf Shrimp with Saffron Risotto
- Flatiron Steak with Butterball & Shishito Peppers
- Hazelnut Bombe with Chocolate Olive Oil & Candied Citrus
- Stout Gingerbread with Huckleberries & Vanilla Creme Fraiche
The experience was a tad bit disappointing. I heard many, many great things about Craft before dining there. I blame my disappointment mainly on the Dine LA menu. The portions we received were just enough for three girls. It definitely was not “family portions.” However, I looked at other tables that ordered from the regular menu. Their dishes looked a lot better.
At the end of the meal, my friends and I looked at each other and shook our heads. The food did not wow us. We asked each other if we were spoiled from eating good food too often.
Below is the link to the pictures I took that night. I apologize for the blurriness of some of the pictures. Forgot to turn on the macro for some of the pics. Okay I’m in a rush to end this post and head out to Bazaar now!
